Applicability (statewide, local, limited): STATEWIDE

Since 1972, Vermont has adopted and enforced national codes for commercial building safety. These codes are adopted by regulation and enforced through the Vermont State Fire Marshal’s Office. The 2012 Vermont Fire & Building Safety Code is based on the 2015 IBC. The 2015 IECC will become effective March 1, 2015.
