Codes are adopted locally in Nevada after regional adoption committees prepare suggested regional amendments. The State Fire Marshal (SFM) adopts the IBC and IFC for schools, health care, state buildings, and commercial buildings for counties with populations of over 100,000. The Nevada Public Works Board adopts the IBC, IRC, IFC, IECC, and IEBC for state-owned buildings.
