AWC & Wood Construction Standards

Since 1944, AWC has been developing standards to ensure the adoption of wood construction standards in domestic and international model codes. AWC’s standards, including the National Design Specification® for Wood Construction, the Wood Frame Construction Manual for One- and Two-Family Dwellings, the Special Design Provisions for Wind and Seismic, and the Permanent Wood Foundation Design Specification are extensively referenced in the ICC model codes and used across the nation. A new AWC standard, the Fire Design Specification for Wood Construction, is currently being considered as a new reference standard in the model codes. See all of AWC’s standards here.
