The NC Building Codes Council adopts every other edition of the International Codes, by statute. It is anticipated that the Council will begin looking at the 2021 editions of the I-codes beginning late 2020 or early 2021, with a potential adoption date at the end of 2021 and effective date in 2022.

Notes:

At each new code adoption, the state staff carries over NC amendments from the previous code for re-adoption with the new model code.
