WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President & CEO Robert Glowinski issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) issuance of an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM), on balancing the benefits and costs of regulatory proposals. The ANPRM requests public comment on how EPA can consider benefits and costs, with greater consistency, transparency and reliability, when interpreting and implementing its regulatory statutes to develop beneficial regulations.

LEESBURG, VA. – Nine American Wood Council (AWC) environmental product declarations (EPDs) for North American wood products have been granted a one-year extension by Underwriters Laboratories Environment (ULE), an independent certifier of products and their sustainability.

AF&PA, AWC Call for Regulatory Transparency at House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Hearing

WASHINGTON – In testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the American Forest & Paper Association and American Wood Council called for federal agencies to implement stronger good guidance practices and benefit-cost analysis to ensure agency guidance and regulations do more good than harm.
