LEESBURG, VA. – The American Wood Council
(AWC) has released a Spanish version of the popular Prescriptive Residential Wood Deck Construction Guide: DCA 6 – 2015 IRC Version
, part of AWC’s Design for Code Acceptance
The free Spanish guide can be downloaded at: https://www.awc.org/codes-standards/publications/dca6
“Safety is our primary concern, which is why we want to make this document accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Good deck design is so important to safety,” said AWC Vice President of Technology Transfer John “Buddy” Showalter. “DCA 6 is now available in Spanish to correspond to both the 2015 and 2012 editions of the International Code Council’s International Residential Code so it can be easily used by everyone involved in U.S. design and construction for whom English might not be their first language.”
DCA 6 was specifically developed to promote good, code-compliant deck design and construction for safe outdoor structures.
