LEESBURG, VA. – The American Wood Council (AWC) has been awarded a 2015 MarCom Gold Award for the redesign of the AWC website, www.awc.org.
“The AWC website redesign was accomplished completely in-house,” said AWC Vice President of Technology Transfer John “Buddy” Showalter. “Our site has more than half a million visitors a year and our goal with the redesign was to create a responsive, user-friendly site. We heartily congratulate our internal web team on this accomplishment.”
In addition to creating a responsive mobile site, the redesign also restructured AWC’s online education opportunities. Website visitors are now able to sort offered courses by accreditation, category or presentation type. For continuing professional education, AWC is a Preferred Provider for the International Code Council, an American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System Approved Provider, and select education programs are registered with National Council of Structural Engineers Associations Diamond Approval Program.
The MarCom Awards are a creative competition for any individual or company involved in print, visual, audio, and web materials and programs. The competition has grown to one of the largest of its kind in the world with approximately 6,000 entries per year from corporations, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Winners come from individual entries to media conglomerates as well as Fortune 50 companies.
