- 2018 International Building Code (IBC), with state amendments
- 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), with state amendments
- 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), with state amendments
Applicability (statewide, local, limited): STATEWIDE
State code must be enforced in local jurisdictions.
Amendments Disadvantaging Wood Construction:
Amendments are relatively few. Local communities can opt out of enforcement, but cannot enforce other than the state codes; local amendments are OK if approved by the SCBCC.
Next Update Cycle (amendment opportunities):
It is anticipated that the Building Code Council will consider the 2021 International Codes for adoption beginning in the fall of 2020 or spring of 2021, with adoption in late 2021, and an effective date of Jan. 1, 2022. These dates may change.
